New Homeowners Settling In

Barbara and James Mills purchased a home on 601 Buffington Street in Guyandotte.

The Huntington West Virginia Housing Authority's Housing Counseling Agency (HCA) /ROSS Homeownership Program (Resident Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency) is pleased to announce that a former public housing family, with the assistance of Huntington Banks as well as the City of Huntington's Home Homeownership Program (Consortium Loan), have purchased their first home.

Over the past several months the family has participated in the Homeownership Program to obtain housing counseling services. The Mills received a certificate of completion in February 2008 and continued to move forward with the ROSS Homeownership Program's Housing Counseling services for post-purchase counseling. Mr. and Mrs. James Mills closed on their home on April 17, 2008. The ROSS program will also assist in building a wheelchair ramp for Mr. Mills who is disabled.
